MEET THE L2 DANCERS
Lihong Chan, Bay Area California native, began her training at six at Oakland’s Danspace under Beth Hoge. She danced in dNaga with artistic director Claudine Naganuma, an inter-generational dance company that performed works about both the Asian-American experience and Parkinson's Disease. She danced with the ODC Dance Jam, directed by Kimi Okada, a pre-professional company performing works by Brenda Way, among others. She received her BFA from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2020. There she performed with the company in residence, Santa Barbara Dance Theater, and UCSB Dance Company. Lihong had the opportunity to train with and perform works by faculty members Christopher Pilafian, Brandon Whited, Christina McCarthy, guest choreographer Ephrat Asherie and Limón repertory restaged by Alice Condodina. Lihong studied a semester abroad in Israel, immersed herself in Gaga, and worked with emerging Israeli choreographers. She spent summers at San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, BODYTRAFFIC and Backhausdance.
