Teachers Workshop

Introducing the first ever
Limón4Kids

"The Limón4Kids Program, at its core, is an opportunity for teaching artists to
celebrate their students, engage them with relevant movement motifs and content, and give voice to the next generation.
"

- Workshop Facilitator, Kurt Douglas

About The L4K Teachers Workshop

The Limón Institute will provide dance professionals with quality professional development opportunities via the famed and celebrated Limón4Kids program. Share with your students the relevant and rich history, language and repertory of José Limón.

The framework of the Limón4Kids Teachers Workshop will address the essential elements of Limón4Kids so that teachers can create a L4K unit that is endorsed by the José Limón Dance Foundation for the academic year 2024 - 2025. Each day will include a Limón4Kids movement experience, practicum via embodiment of the Limón Principles and Limón Repertory, and discourse.

The Limón4Kids Teachers Workshop will occur in NYC the week immediately following the annual Teachers Workshop, July 15 - 19, 2024. The major point of departure being the focus on Limón Repertory and the myriad ways it can be conversational to young people, and how to translate that material to young bodies. Attending the Teachers Workshop is not a requirement to attend the L4K Teachers Workshop. Those who attend both will receive a discount on tuition for the L4K Teachers Workshop.
