Join the Limón Dance Company for its 78th season, honoring the rich legacy of its founder. The season opens with Doris Humphrey’s solo, Two Ecstatic Themes, followed by Limón’s dramatic The Traitor. After 45 years, Limón’s drumming quartet Scherzo returns, alongside the powerful Missa Brevis. The season also features a world premiere by Kayla Farrish, reimagining two lost Limón works.

The Limón Dance Company presents Migrant Mother, a choreography by Raúl Tamez, the first created by a Mexican choreographer since José Limón, at the Newman Center in Denver. This powerful and evocative piece explores themes of symbolic domination, colonization, and creolization, paying homage to the majesty of pre-Hispanic heritage in Mesoamerica. Don’t miss this extraordinary celebration of the resilience and beauty of indigenous cultures.

The Limón Dance Company is thrilled to return to Gainesville this spring where we will perform There is a Time, Limón's 1956 masterwork drawing from Ecclesiastes which evokes the breadth of human experience and a sense of time circling.  Also on the program will be Doris Humphrey's Two Ecstatic Themes, a solo in two parts, and the new work commission by Kayla Farrish.
