Level
The Limón Institute defines an intermediate–advanced dancer as someone who has a strong technical foundation, solid body awareness, and the ability to learn and retain choreography efficiently. They can execute complex movement with control, musicality, coordination, and artistry while adapting to different styles and movement qualities.

Tuition
The registration fee applies at both rates. The October 15 rate requires payment in full.
Scholarship
Limited merit-based and need-based tuition scholarships are available for eligible dancers. Scholarships cannot be combined with any other discount.
When you register, you will have the option to apply for a scholarship. To apply, upload a video of yourself dancing (90 seconds maximum). The video may include footage from a dance class, a performance, or an in-studio improvisation. The movement does not need to be Limón-based. Please also include a brief written or recorded statement explaining why you are applying and how the scholarship would benefit and support you.
Scholarship decision letters are sent within two weeks of your application. Awards continue until all funds are allocated, and none are given after November 15.
Drop-In Classes
Drop-ins are available for the morning technique class only, at $20 per class, space permitting.
Do I need to audition? No. Registration is open to intermediate–advanced dancers 15 and up. A dance video is needed only if you are applying for a scholarship.
FAQ
Is there a showing at the end of the week? Yes. The week closes with an informal studio showing of the work you have built. It is for the group rather than a ticketed performance, so come ready to dance for each other.
What should I bring? Professional dance attire is required for all classes. Limón Technique and Repertory are danced barefoot or in ballet shoes. Bring layers, kneepads and socks for Contemporary Repertory, water and snacks.
Is housing available? No. We do not provide or arrange housing, so dancers traveling in should plan their own. The Intensive runs 10am to 5pm, which leaves the evenings free.
Can I take a single class instead of the full week? Yes. The morning technique class is the only drop-in class offered during the Intensive, at $20 per class.
How many dancers are in the room? Class sizes are intentionally kept small to ensure each dancer receives individualized attention and feedback. Enrollment varies from year to year.
Is there a payment plan? We do not offer a payment plan for the Winter Intensive.
What is your refund policy? The $50 registration fee is non-refundable. Tuition refunds are considered only if written cancellation is received before November 15. Registrations made after November 15 are non-refundable.
