This workshop is for teachers looking to invigorate their practices & approaches through the Limón lens.
Deconstruct the Principles for revitalized creativity practices and explore language to expand safe learning spaces.
Participants will most benefit from this workshop having a previous understanding of the Limón Technique and Principles. This is not a workshop to learn the Limón Principles, but how they can best serve your approach to movement and teaching practices.

Sample Schedule; SUBJECT TO CHANGE
11:00am - 12:30pm ET - Technique for Teachers
12:50pm - 3:00pm ET - Pedagogy
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday - optional meet-up from 3:15pm - 4:00pm ET to synthesize materials and build community through shared experiences.
Topics of discussion will include the following but will also be participant-driven.
- Engaged pedagogy
- Movement and Music
- Creating community, inclusivity and brave spaces
- Repertory as a key to address equity
- Dissemination of information; (non-) verbal, (non-) tactile cueing / "corrections"
- Class progression & development
- Modes of material dissemination for different learners
Tuition | Scholarship
$600 + $50 non-refundable Registration Fee
Drop ins are available for the Technique for Teachers aspect of this workshop only.
Tuition is due in full at the time of registration via credit or debit card. Registration is non-refundable. A tuition refund (not the registration fee) will only be considered by written cancellation before May 10, 2024.
Limited merit- and need-based tuition scholarships are available for eligible teachers, but cannot be used with additional discounts.
Limón believes deeply in community and makes every effort to allow access to all dancers to their intensives. Priority will be made for applicants who identify as persons of color.
Please consider forgoing the request for scholarship if you: are a dependent of means, or own the home you live in, or have investments, retirement accounts or inherited money, or are able to travel recreationally, or have access to family money and resources in times of need, and / or have race or class privilege. If your place of employment is able to fund this workshop as a professional development opportunity, please do not request scholarship.

Studio location will be shared once confirmed.
Limón does not provide housing but will share housing recommendations with participants upon request.
Entry Requirements
There is not an audition to attend this workshop.
This workshop is designed for educators interested in invigorating teaching practices and providing inclusive spaces for students to learn and grow.
There is no application process to attend, however it will be assumed that participants have an understanding of the Limón Principles.
This workshop will not introduce the Limón Principles, but will utilize the Principles for deeper understanding, embodiment, to impart the importance of self-exploration for you as an educator and for your students, and agency.
Your experience with this workshop will be vastly enhanced with a previous familiarity of the Principles. Many classes and clips are available for study on the @Limondance Instagram channel.
Upon registration, participants will receive a digital package of supplemental / preparatory materials and are encouraged to attend Limón classes when able to prepare for the richest experience.
Limón NYC and its in-person participants will be strictly adhering to the COVID 19 protocols provided by the CDC, FDA and WHO and required by the City and State of New York at the time of the intensive. At this time, vaccination is not required, but testing / masking will be required.
