Johnson Guo (he/him)

Johnson Guo, from Brooklyn, New York, began his dance training under Eliot Feld’s Ballet Tech Program at the age of 8. There, he had the honor of performing in works by choreographers Eliot Feld, Brian Brooks, Julia Eichten, and Stephanie Terasaki at the beautiful Joyce Theater. During the summers of 2013 to 2019, Johnson worked at Ballet Tech’s beginner programs, where he supervised and instructed children during their ballet technique classes. Upon graduating from Ballet Tech, Johnson continued his dance education at the Conservatory of Dance at SUNY Purchase, where he was introduced to a variety of techniques such as, Graham, Cunningham, Gaga, DOVA, floor work, and Limón. During his in-person semesters at Purchase, Johnson had the wonderful opportunity of performing in works by Rena Butler, José Limón, and Eve Chan. In addition to the curriculum of the dance program, Johnson has taken courses in hand drumming, costuming, and acting. In the summer of 2019, Johnson was invited to join the James Sewell Ballet company’s fellowship in Big Sky, Montana, where he learned and performed James Sewell repertory at the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center. This past summer, Johnson was invited to be a counselor and performer at Burklyn Ballet Theatre’s intensive held at the campus of Northern Vermont University. There, Johnson supervised and guided children, and performed new and classical ballet works. Outside of rehearsing and performing, Johnson enjoys the art of choreographing, as well as the culinary arts. This will be Johnson’s first season with the Limón Company.
