Mariah Gravelin began dancing at the age of three at Eastern Connecticut Ballet under the direction of Gloria Govrin and Lisa Reardon. There, she received her formal ballet training as well as her first training and introduction to Limón from Libby Nye at the age of 11. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program, graduating in the Spring of 2018. She has spent summers training at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Ballet X, and Paul Taylor. Additionally, Mariah has worked with choreographers Florian Lochner, Francesca Harper, Kanji Segawa, Darshan Bhuller, Brice Mousset, and Mary Ann Lamb, among others. She has performed works by Alvin Ailey, José Limón, George Balanchine, Paul Taylor, and Bob Fosse. She joined the Limón Dance Company as an apprentice in the Winter of 2019 and joined the main Company in the Summer of 2019. This is her third season with the Company. When she is not dancing, Mariah can be found pursuing her passion of photography in NYC and beyond.
