Lauren Twomley, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, graduated summa cum laude from SUNY Purchase with a BFA in Dance and a minor in Arts Management. She began her professional training at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School. While at LaGuardia she performed with the Vicky Simegiatos Dance Company, DeMa Dance Company and worked with choreographers Elisa King and H.T. Chen. She joined the Martha Graham School in their performance of Panorama at Lincoln Center in 2011. During her Purchase career she has studied under a renowned faculty. She has worked with a variety of choreographers such as Doug Varone, Sidra Bell, Dylan Crossman, Kevin Wynn and Ana Maria Lucaciu, and has performed their work both inside and outside of Purchase. She has also performed in masterworks by choreographers Martha Graham, José Limón and Merce Cunningham. Lauren is the 2018 recipient of the SUNY Purchase President’s Award for Achievement in Dance. In fall of 2016, she was afforded the opportunity to study abroad in Rotterdam, Holland at Codarts Dans Acadamie where she explored the repertoire of Jiri Kylian and Joost Vrouenraets while performed in small projects around the city of Rotterdam. She has attended intensive workshops at Springboard X, the Merce Cunningham Trust, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, Gaga Tel Aviv and DEVICES- Doug Varone Choreographic Intensive & Mentorship program.Upon graduation, Lauren is humbled to have worked with Crossman Dans(c)e, Peter Stathas Dance, and A-Y Dancers. She is founding member of N E 1 4 Dance, and is currently a member of the Limón Dance Company.
